All told, I think this is the best mobile game Ive played. Its definitely a twitchy action title, but it has a load of depth that reveals itself to you as you play and study it. Graphics and sound are perfect, lovely music, unbelievably good controls for mobile, very challenging but ultimately conquerable. Reminds me a bit of Spelunky, though it is not as involved as that, and definitely more arcadey. Strongest recommendation.

I play this game so much every day it never gets old from the power ups to the monsters. It is the best retro game EVER I mean it.

Couldnt recommend more. If youre looking for something to play when youre out and about but still want a challenge, this is the perfect blend. Its not stressfully difficult, but its not easy either. You can tell there was a lot of love put into this game.

If you have any idea of what made games great in the 90s or what makes a perfect pick up and play, then youll appreciate this game as it is meant to be!

Game was so awful I didnt even play it

The OLDNCOLD palette isnt showing on my iPhone 5c even though Ive unlocked it.

I love the game, the choice of how the game looks, the gameplay, pretty much everything. I only have one request for this game. Multiplayer. Maybe, you could put a smaller well to the right of the main well. This is just a suggestion. I do love the game, but I would like it more if it had this.

I love this game. Its addicting, can be played instantly when youre waiting for something, and its plenty difficult to keep you motivated to get better. Anyone who complains about button placement or that its too hard is simply a casual gamer. This is a great buy.

Now, for those who dont want to read this review, Ill sum it up real quick. Its good, and you wont get bored of it. Its worth it. For those who need REASON as to why the game is so good, then here we go. Some people have rated this game poorly due to its retro graphics and simple gameplay. This game is superb, and an amazing experience. It is very polished and very fun, and that gives it HUGE replay value. The game is very big, and I dont see it ever growing old. It has simple controls, but requires a certain skill that must be developed. With the leveling system and the color pallets, this game is a fresh breath of life into indie retro a evade games. 1 purchase and boom. Infinite fun. Why are you still reading? Download it already!

Its a really fun app but seems to have bugs. Every time I get a text message and respond to it during the app it crashes. The same applies if you try to multitask with the app open.

Downwell is one of the most fun and addicting games Ive played in a while. Most iOS games are fun at first but I lose interest after a few days. This is definitely not the case for this game. It has a very interesting way of shooting that makes it stand out from most games. Its a little frustrating when you lose your upgrades after you die but its fun progressing through each of the levels, seeing new enemy types, and collecting new weapons.

This is by far the best game on this site. This game has the quality of a game on consoles or pc, but on your phone. The gameplay is fun to play and replay, and the graphics and music is great to look at and listen to. The only thing I would say is bad is that the game doesnt give too much to make you want to come back except for the fun gameplay. But this game still needs to be more known because its the best mobile game ever made.

Best game ever theres infinite possibilities of levels and each one is better than the last. After each level the upgrades are fun and make the game have more depth. Im not the person to leave reviews but this game earned it

It would be much better if you were able to keep the upgrades you get and not have to start from the very beginning every time its game over, its too difficult to progress and not interesting enough to put that much time into it, trying to.

A campaign mode or story mode. Where it saves between caverns. Then it has bosses as well. This would complete the game. I love it enough already but adding this would be amazing. And not a skimpy amount of levels. At least 10 boss fights and thats one at the end of each cavern.
