This game is epic even though I just started playing it!!

This game is so simple yet fun and addictive. Takes me back to all those old school games. The sound effects are incredible.

I love this game!!! I play it regularly to pass time and it never gets old. Reminds me of spelunky, doodle jump (in reverse) and a tiny bit of Mario all wrapped into one!

This is a amazing arcade style pixel game. I love the different aspects to it. The $3 dollars a little pricey but luckily I bought when it was $1. But still, it is definitely worth it. The sound effects are amazing. The different guns and abilities to earn is great. If is a all around terrific game. I 100 percent reccoemend getting it if you are willing to pay three dollars.

Its fun and a good game but it shouldnt be 3$. Devolver is great but they are really ripping people on this one. Its five dollars on the vita which is a crime.

Super addicting game. I just wish I could play it holding my iPhone horizontally because my thumbs are big and I dont have enough room to use both when I hold my phone vertically. If portrait orientation was enabled for this app, I would give it 5 stars.

Im not big on arcade games, or old school games, or shmups, or 8-bit retro nostalgia. But this game is crazy fun. Pretty much perfect for an action time-killer.

Downwell is the best iOS game Ive played. Probably the first time Ive really enjoyed touch screen controls. Excellent gameplay and excellent controls. Worth every penny and more. Inspired me to write my first and maybe only review. Love it!!!

Frustrating controls

This raises the bar for iOS games finally real gameplay and not some modern day tiger handheld crap. Cant stop playing and each play gets better. Bravo. Play it.

This is a five star game except for the lack of updates

By far the best controls of any touch device game Ive ever played. I have played both the mobile and PC versions of this game, and both just shine. The concept is simple, the controls feel tight, and the experience overall is just fantastic. It might look simplistic at first, but I really cant recommend it more.

Simply put, this ode to classic gaming has it all. The introduction leaves an enticing feeling as you decide to leave the comfort of your bed for an adventure down a challenging and exciting well hole. As far as iPhone controls go, this game has a smooth feel with a three button layout. The animations of the sprites are cute and well thought out giving way to the simple color palette. Overall a complete experience for handheld gaming and worth your cash. I look to developers to take something from this game in terms of style and simplicity.

This game is awesome! Every so often, Devolver publishes real gems. The low price justifies the fact that a touch screen is not optimal for this game.
